These few weeks are a time of anticipation for football punters: the Premiership kicks off in mid-August, and the UEFA World Cup Qualifiers for Brazil 2014 will get underway in September.
It’s definitely a time for watching the moves and planning some strategic, and hopefully lucrative, wagering, but early betting markets (for outright qualifying group winners and overall tournament winner) can already be found at some online sportsbooks, for those who just can’t wait!
13 is the Lucky Number for Europe in the World Cup 2014 Qualifiers
Of the 53 UEFA national teams competing to get through the first round qualifiers, only 13 will travel to Brazil in two years’ time. There are eight qualifying groups – the nine teams who top their groups will qualify automatically, whereas the eight highest runners up will have to compete in play-offs to take the last four places.
Can England Qualify?
Well, hopefully the answer is yes. And the word going around is that football betting at William Hill is the best place for the news and odds. England is in Group H, and their chances are reasonably good against Montenegro, Moldova and San Marino, with Ukraine and Poland obviously posing the biggest threat. No surprises of course that Spain are favourites to take home the World Cup trophy, again. The most serious competitor in their qualifying group, Group I, is France.
